FAQ
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE MY DOG GROOMED?
We recommend having your dog groomed every four to six weeks for longer coated breeds and every six to eight weeks for shorter coats. Even if your pet does not need length taken off of their coat, they must be bathed and brushed out to properly maintain healthy skin and to keep matting and dander to a minimum. Nails and ears should also be checked regularly.
HOW LONG DOES GROOMING TAKE? WHY?
The average time for us to have your pet is three to four hours. For large or multiple pets, it may be longer. We allow time for sufficient breaks for the pets, and to ensure that we can deliver the best quality pet styles in a safe and low-stress environment. Every day is different for us and things such as new clients, matted pets, pet potty accidents, walk-in nail trims and phone calls all factor into our timing on any given day. Your pets’ safety and comfort are our top priority and we do our best to get them happily home as soon as possible while ensuring that they always have a positive experience with us. We are happy to discuss our express service that is an option for special circumstances. Our staff is always happy to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have.
CAN I STAY WITH MY PET DURING THE GROOMING?
You are welcome to stay in the lobby while your pet is being groomed. There is a clear view of the grooming area. However, pets are generally calmer and better behaved (for grooming) when the owner is not present. While we welcome you to view the process, safety is always our number one priority. We are using very sharp equipment, so please refrain from intentional distractions such as calling your pet’s name or tapping on the window.
DO I NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
We do prefer appointments. We like to ensure that there is sufficient time for each individual pets’ needs to be met. We will gladly take a walk-in appointment if time permits. Nail trimming and other individual services do not require an appointment and can usually be done while you wait.
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?
We ask that you give at least 48 hours notice of cancellation if possible so that we may fill the empty appointment slot. We understand that life happens; however, please try not to make it a habit. Upon two no call/no shows for a scheduled grooming appointment, you will be required to pay a deposit per pet to hold future appointments (amount varies based on the size of your pet). Deposit is either refundable or will be applied to your grooming costs upon attendance of scheduled and completed grooming appointment.
